The sculptures and paintings of Chilik Smadar immortalize his passions and love which give them physical forms. The connection between the outer and the inner world is typical to the artist's way of life. His act of creating is like an act of making love to the places and nature that he describes, to the women and people that he sculpts and paints and to the wonder of creating new worlds to which he invites most of his time and thoughts. He uses his art as a vessel to convey desires and feelings as compensation on emotions according to his words. "What I am missing in my soul appears on the canvases. The source of warmth I found more and more in creativity and especially in painting." Through it he documents sights and expresses feelings as well as sights and situations seen during his journeys and characters that he meets. In the years that he lived abroad in America, he found painting to be a cure for his longing to Israel.
